Projects: The projects must be prepared entirely in Maple and
must be
at most 5 pages long (including graphs).
- Project #1 due M 2/21:Lab 1.3, pages 140-141 in the text, use
Choice 7
in Table 1.10. Your report should answer Parts 1-3, and also the extra:
Part 4. What harvest level a would you recommend, and why? Are there
adverse
consequences possible?
- To prepare your report, assume that you are a project
scientist
preparing
a report for your boss. You must be consise but complete, and
communicate
clearly:
- the nature of the physical problem
- the mathematical model, including the meaning of any
variables you use
- your analysis of the differential equation (qualitative,
numeric,
analytic)
- your conclusions
- Your grade will be based on the overall quality of
communication as
well
as formal correctness and completeness of your solution.
- Project #1 to be resubmitted on W 3/9.
- Project #2 due M 4/18:The handout with Project #2 will be
distributed
in class on W 3/23.
